English 363 Second Semester Final Exam May 29, 2009 Mr. Bolf
Throughout the school year you have been challenged to think in new ways about the texts that we have read and studied in class. You also have been challenged to think about your country in new ways: you have considered the stories that define who and what we are as Americans in order to examine our national identity. Over the next week you will decide whether or not the novel you have read as part of the Literature Circles Capstone Project belongs in the literary pantheon that is Storytelling in America. This assignment asks you, the student, to make an intelligent decision, based on critical reading and writing skills, about the stories that students will be required to read for this course in the future.

Value: 20% of a student’s second semester grade. Due Date: 6-5-09

In order for the assignment to be completed properly, the following requirements must be met:
The completed final is due on Friday, June 5th. In order for the assignment to be completed, the following requirements must be met:

1. A hard copy version turned into the teacher at the beginning of class; and

2. An electronic copy submitted to turnitin.com by 8:00 a.m, even if you have an excused absence for the day.

The assignment will only be considered completed when both of these requirements have been fulfilled. Failure to submit the paper to turnitin.com will result in a 10% deduction from the final grade for each day it is not submitted, even if a hard copy has been handed to the teacher. If the paper is not submitted by Friday, June 12th, you will receive an "I"ncomplete for the final and for the semester. Once the final is submitted, it will receive a grade no higher than 50%.
